AN emergency meeting has been held by the board of Bromsgrove Sporting following the shock resignation of three newly appointed directors.

Brian Seymour-Smith and his two associates Craig Cotterill and Paul Molesworth announced they would be stepping down as the directors of Bromsgrove Sporting Limited earlier this week.

The consortium, who took over Bromsgrove Sporting in August 2023, previously said they had "ambitious" plans for the club.

Announcing their resignation, the trio told BBC Hereford and Worcester: “From day one, as a team, we gave 100 per cent, however, it was clear there were some board members who didn’t feel our direction and ambition was the direction they wanted the club to go.”

In response to the move, the Bromsgrove Sporting board held an emergency meeting last night following the resignations (Tuesday, November 14).

A spokesperson for the board said: "At that meeting, Graham Scott was unanimously elected as interim chairman of the club.

"Graham will also resume his role as director of football. No other changes were made to directors' responsibilities at this point in time.

"The board also decided that they would hold a forum to update fans and shareholders as soon as a suitable date can be agreed".
