BROMSGROVE Swimming Club’s juniors were in impressive form in the end-of-season finale at the Biddulph Open Meet.

The club saw the team come away with 45 county qualifying times for next year, as well as 86 personal-best times, together with 14 gold medals, 31 silvers and 24 bronzes.

There were also a handful of Midlands times set by the club’s next generation.

Abigail Salcombe, making open meet debut, overcame her first day nerves and achieved four personal best times, two bronzes medals and a 2017 County qualifying time, while Amy Owens took home three third places.

Ben Collett had a great weekend and picked up a brace of silver medals, a bronze, two 2017 countyg times as well as a club record.

There were eight PBs and two qualifying times for Connor Bray, who was one of the youngest competitors in his age group.

Cyrus Passman raced in the 1,500 metres freestyle and was pipped to bronze but did record a huge best time, which puts him very close to a Midlands time.

There was a host of medals for Ellie Mansell, who won gold, two silvers and set a hat-trick of PBs and county standards.

Emily Bower, in her first open meet, recorded four PBs and won two silver medals.

Felicity Gee had an excellent open meet recording two county qualifying times and seven new times PBs in her events.

Jacob Elliott won all six events he took part in, recording county times and PBs in all of them while also breaking five club records.

James Maycock had 13 events and clinched seven bronze medals, five runner-up sports and one first place.He also gained five PBs and two county qualifying times.

Jasmine Kilmartin swum in 10 races and recorded four PBs, eight county times and won two bronses, one silver and a gold medal.
