DROITWICH Spa have told their players they must prove themselves for next season.

Spa have seven games left in the Midlands Division Two but joint managers Wayne Oliver and Mark Owen are already planning for the 2015-16 campaign.

The team are enjoying their best campaign ever under the pair's direction and need just three more points to guarantee they avoid relegation, which is a big improvement on the previous two finishes.

Oliver said: "Over the last few games we will have a look at all of the squad.

"We've already told the lads that we want to keep them for next season but it is up to them, they have to prove how much they want it.

"It's about having some momentum for next season and we've already got plans in place."

Spa made it two wins in a row on Saturday when they got the better of Hampton Sports 4-1.

Jammy Ward bagged a hat-trick as he plundered two headers from set pieces and a volley, while Macauley Finch added to his tally.

Spa now face two away games over the Easter weekend.

They go to third-placed Sutton on Saturday and then travel to relegation battling Knowle on Monday (both 3pm kos).

Oliver added: "The game against Knowle is the important game because a win there will make sure we are safe.

"We've got five away games in our last seven, so it's a tough run-in."
