A PAIR of Bromsgrove pensioners have made a splash at the National Masters Swimming Championships in Sheffield.
Mike Marshall, 75, and Graham Short, 68, were in fine form as they raced to a host of first places.
Marshall set a new British and European record in the 1,500 metres of 23-35.18 and in the 4x200m freestyle relay was part of a Birmingham Masters quartet which repeated that feat.
Meanwhile, Short won the 100m and 200m butterfly events in 1-25.10 and 3-24.21 respectively.
Both are residents of Hanbury and members of Birmingham Masters. The dedicated duo train relentlessly every morning at 6.30am at Bromsgrove David Lloyd and always offer advise and always on hand to help any newcomers into the pool.
