BROMSGROVE Tennis Club savoured three wins out four this week.

The Men’s D Team had a hard fought 4-0 win over Bewdley D in Division Six.

Jack Walters with Pete Morris again won both their contests, but were pushed all the way in their final match, winning 7-5 in the third set.

Mark Blake and Tim Roland came up trumps this week, also winning both their contests and again winning their second match in the third set.

The Men’s fixture against Cutnall Green, an annual pre-Christmas event saw Bromsgrove stroll to a 4-2 victory.

The surprise was that Cutnall’s first pair of Truswell and Woodward went down in both their matches for the first time.

For Bromsgrove, Boardman with Casey won both their contests as did Feltham with Hands, taking their second encounter with a battling win in a third set tie-break.

Barton and Colley went down in two close contests, with Barton who celebrated his 78th birthday this week showing plenty of fighting spirit.

Meanwhile, the Ladies strong performance continued.

The C Team travelled to Pershore, and in very windy conditions on the exposed courts fought hard to come away with a 3-1 victory, continuing their unbeaten run in Division Five.

Steph Armstrong with Millie Doherty had two straightforward wins and Debbie Oliver and Ann Banner lost their opening contest in a tight three-set match, but then took the second comfortably.
