A CYCLIST was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on Greenhill in Burcot, Worcestershire, at the weekend.
The incident happened just after 2pm yesterday (Sunday October 1).
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 2.15pm.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “On arrival, crews found a cyclist who had come off his bike.
“The man was treated by ambulance staff for serious injuries and conveyed on blue lights to University Hospital Birmingham; MERIT travelled on board to provide continued assistance enroute.”
West Mercia Police closed the road while medics worked at the scene.
A police spokesperson said: "We received a call around 2:45pm yesterday afternoon (October 1) with a report of a man being knocked off his push bike on Greenhill, Burcot.
"Our officers attended the incident to find the man had sustained serious injuries and he was taken to the QE Hospital in Birmingham.
"Investigations are on-going as to how the incident happened."
