CCTV footage has been released as police investigate an attempted car theft in Barnt Green.

The incident happened on Bittell Road near Bittell Farm Road on Thursday, May 11 between 5.05pm and 5.10pm.

The owner was notified by the tracker company that someone was in his car and he was able to disturb them, at which point they ran off.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “Whilst we appreciate the CCTV images are not the best in terms of being able to identify the people at the scene of the incident, the footage does show that there were people walking and driving in the area as the offence was taking place.

“Were you passing by this area last Thursday before or after the offence took place and saw anything suspicious?

“At the time you may not have thought anything of it, but we are hoping this appeal may jog someone’s memory. The two people can be seen going back onto Bittell Road on foot and got into a small saloon black car.
