BARNT Green Waters is hosting an open day for the second year running to give visitors the opportunity to see the 'hidden paradise’ on their doorstep.
Visitors will have the chance to experience sailing subject to weather conditions at the sailing club and tour Bittell Resvoir Estate which is occupied by three reservoirs, Upper Bittell, Lower Bittell and Mill Shrub.
Gordon Padmore of Barnt Green Sailing Club said: “The estate has an exceptional range of varied opportunities to improve the local community’s mental health and well-being through opportunities to volunteer, socialise with other members and for members to help and encourage each other.”
The estate is also home to a fishing club which was established in 1888, meanwhile, the sailing club onsite offers memberships to all and junior training courses as well as adult courses.
Anyone interested in natural history and the countryside can join the Friends of Bittell section which gives access to the estate and includes a well-established Birdwatching group.
The open day on Saturday, May 13 is between 11am and 4pm.
