ISSUES affecting the community were discussed between residents, police and councillors during a new pop-up street surgery in Rubery.

The Rubery Street PACT (Police and Community Together) Surgery enabled residents to discuss matters with the team’s Business, Rural and Cybercrime advisor and PC Tim Burling.

Councillor Peter McDonald and Councillor Christine McDonald also joined the surgery on Saturday, September 17, which took place in the main shopping area of New Road, Rubery.

Up to 60 crime prevention packs were given out, covering topics including internet safety, hate crime, rape awareness, and general crime prevention and property marking advice.

Personal attack alarms and timer switches were also given to visitors to the surgery.

A spokesman from Hagley and Rubery Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "The issues raised are being considered and discussed with the relevant partner agency with a view to taking the appropriate course of action."
