A BROMSGROVE man convicted of trying to groom a 15-year-old girl for sex has been before a court again for trying to contact another girl on social media.

David Anderson used his grandfather's name in an attempt to cover his use of Facebook, Christopher Lester, prosecuting, told Worcester Crown Court.

But the 27-year-old's ruse was spotted and his previous conviction of 10 months jail suspended for 24 months came to light.

His breach of regulations, set by Gloucester Crown Court in 2013, was admitted by Anderson, of Coriander Close, Stoke Prior, near Bromsgrove.

Mr Lester said Anderson was arrested after a 15-year-old girl realised his true identity after wrongly believing she was talking on Facebook to a fellow teenager instead of a mature man.

Judge Michael Cullum said Anderson had been deliberately deceptive and had ridden roughshod over the restrictions set by the court. But Michael Aspinall, mitigating, said Anderson had merely been using the social media in bid to contact a former partner.

Judge Cullum made a community order for 12 months and ordered Anderson to carry out 100 hours unpaid work. He said that Anderson would still be subject to the initial suspended sentence and ordered him to pay £100 costs.
